Education

True to Cal Poly's "learn by doing" ethic, the institute offers hands-on learning opportunities for students and professional opportunities for faculty, including:

• Employing students as undergraduate student assistants and graduate research assistants
• Providing opportunities for master's theses and honors senior projects
• Preparing students for employment in positions related to specialty crops through contacts with industry, government and others
• Enhancing student leadership development
• Hosting academic seminars and other educational symposia
• Incorporating research results into classroom lectures and exercises
• Publishing research in academic journals and other publications
